In the spider sprint drill there is nothing to set up. I’m representing the drill with 4 players, 2 vs 2. The first team to finish wins. This drill can be done alone of course is well. You may also time the player if he is doing it alone and give him a time target
Practicing with the coach:
The coach may decide to make a fixed order which the players have to do or he may give the choice to the players. The coach advises the player always to face the other side of the court and using sidesteps when going sideways and backwards after running forward.
The first payer of each team (player 1 and player 3 in the video). Start on the command of the coach (“GO”). The players start racing to 5 different points of the court, the two connections between sidelines and baseline, the two connection between the service line and the sidelines and the connection of the service line with the center service line.
This exercise is great as these movements are used a lot in tennis.
Practicing with friends (or alone):
Are you a motivated player and want a little sweat? This is a great exercise for you. Do this a few times with some other footwork drills you can find on si-tennis.
